Special Needs Scholarship Funding
At SPS Tutor, we have extensive experience working with homeschool families to provide private teaching and individualized academic instruction for K-12 students. Many families choose homeschooling because it allows students to learn at a pace that matches their individual needs, interests, and strengths. Our private teaching services are designed to support that approach by providing structured, high-quality instruction in a flexible learning environment.
Traditional school settings often require students to spend six to seven hours per day in a classroom, where instruction must be delivered to large groups of students with varying learning levels. While this model works for many students, it can also limit the amount of personalized attention each student receives.
Through our one-on-one and small group instruction, students receive highly focused academic support tailored specifically to their learning style. Because our sessions are individualized, instruction can move efficiently through material the student already understands while spending additional time strengthening areas that need improvement. This targeted approach often allows students to master academic concepts more quickly and effectively than in larger classroom settings.
Our educators work closely with homeschool families to provide private teaching in subjects such as mathematics, science, reading, writing, and advanced STEM coursework, as well as standardized test preparation. Lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and aligned with each student’s educational plan.
Many homeschool students find that with individualized instruction and a focused learning environment, they can accomplish a full day’s academic work in a shorter period of time while maintaining a deeper understanding of the material.

Step Up Scholarship for Homeschool Families
Step Up For Students administers several Florida school choice scholarships. The primary scholarship that supports homeschooling families is called the Personalized Education Program (PEP).
What the PEP Scholarship Is
The Personalized Education Program (PEP) provides families with an Education Savings Account (ESA) that allows parents to direct their child’s education. Instead of attending a traditional public school, families can use the scholarship funds to design a customized learning program for their child.
The scholarship is available to Florida students in grades K–12 who are not enrolled full-time in a public or private school.

Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA)
The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) is a Florida school-choice scholarship designed to help families of children with disabilities customize their child’s education. The program is administered by the Step Up For Students and funded through the state of Florida.
What the FES-UA Scholarship Is
The FES-UA program provides an Education Savings Account (ESA) that gives families direct control over how education funds are used for their child. Instead of being limited to one school setting, parents can use the funds for a combination of educational services tailored to their child’s needs. The program supports students with disabilities by allowing families to design individualized learning programs that may include private school, homeschooling, therapies, or specialized services.
